FORKLIFT TIRE TYPES

Tires significantly affect forklift performance, and there are many factors to consider. Different compounds offer different levels of traction, and improved traction improves safety.

Fuel consumption is dramatically affected by the rolling resistance of the tires. Shock transmitted through the forklift is related to the hardness of the tires and affects maintenance costs and downtime. In short, every aspect of forklift performance is somehow related to tires.

CUSHION TIRES

are ideal for indoor applications with smooth floors such as warehouses. Cushion tires are smooth, contain more rubber and will last longer than a regular lug tire. A smooth tread design puts a bigger footprint on the ground, providing better traction.

PNEUMATIC TIRES

are ideal for applications that have outdoor areas and rough, loose surfaces. Pneumatic tires provide a softer ride, protecting equipment, operators and loads. These tires also come in two variations, air filled (pneumatic) and solid. If your application causes constant tire damage, solid tires may help save you money.

NON MARKING TIRES

are ideal for indoor applications where cleanliness is important such as food or beverage manufacturing. Non-marking tires are almost the same as regular tires, however they do not leave characterisitc black marks on the floor. These tires come in solid, pneumatic and cushion.
